Dendam masakan ibu

Pagi-pagi tadi cepat-cepat tel ibu di sana meminta mengirim sambal ikan bilis. Bukan tak tahu buat, bukan tak ada bahan, tapi disebabkan terlalu rindu pada air tangan seorang ibu. Kirimkanlah walaupun hanya sedikit cuma. Selalunya dulu, kalau aku di Malaysia, bila aku pulang bercuti dari sekolah, aku akan memakan masakan ibu, biarpun hanya telur goreng mata kerbau. Bagi aku ia tetap makanan yang paling enak. Makanan yang dimasak oleh ibu, adalah makanan yang dimasak dengan penuh kasih sayang.

Tapi Faten tak pernah merasa masakan ibunya. Kesian Faten. InsyaAllah satu hari nanti kita akan bersama juga. InsyaAllah satu hari nanti mommy akan masakkan untuk Faten, biarpun telur goreng mata kerbau seperti mana maktok masak terasa istemewa bagi mommy. Tapi kalau maktok aku yang masak untuk aku, akau akan rasa 'double whaming'.

I do not know about you. But when I did my PhD last time, as a man (man is strong), I broke down and cry most of the time. I promised to myself, when I got it through I wanted to help those who are doing PhD. Because I do not want them to have my experience. (souce Dr Allan)

Me! well! Uhmm! I feel like I had been jumping from the 10 floor of a building for about 10/20 times (unrecoverable).If I know someone who is going to do a PhD, I will go to the person and punch (seriously hard) on the face and ask the person to go back and enjoy their life.

There is more to it than just a PhD. But we will never know. Probably the path is so much easier than mine. That is why I hardly punch anyone face, partly because of that reason, another is I hardly know them. So my principle applies, if you think that what you are saying is going to have a negative impact on someone else you better keep quite.

Sessi kuliah over the weekend had gone well despite lack of proper planning. We are not guru agama anyway to teach, but we just happen to be the muslim who compare to this family have been trying hard to practice what we believe in. So we teach what we think that they might need, which in turn help us to understand more about Islam. The weekend session on satuday consist of Islamic history (printed it out from the internet), second Quran reading (just like the one we use to do with 'tok guru'), the last one is about fiqh (rukun iman, rukun islam).

Because we had insisted earlier that we did not want any payment made to that ( our tok guru never ask for money, why should we?), we had roasted lamb on saturday, and delicious fresh cream cakes and pasties on sunday.

I came to city today. He last minute followed me to have a break.
